How to Create a Dynamic Drop-Down List
Before you insert a combo box, decide what data entries or list items you want to select. Choose anywhere you want to store the list items. It can be in the same sheet or another sheet or Excel file. Write the desired menu options in a list.
Move your cursor to the ‘Data’ tab and left-click it.
Click the ‘Data Validation’ button in the middle of the ribbon. Ensure not to click the little arrow. Now, a dialog box called ‘Data Validation’ appears. Choose the settings for your drop-down list.
Pick the data validation method you want to use and connect the list of options with the menu. Then, click on the ‘Source’ field and go to the location of your list with allowed values. Select the cells containing your list items. And click ‘OK.’
